Just go in with a calm mind, and have confidence in your abilities. And, for some added help to that, we have brought to you today a couple of time management tips to help you finish the exams in time. Read on to know more!
Know the time you can spend on each section
First off, you need to have a clear idea about the time that you can spend on each section. You will have to clarify this beforehand while you are giving your trial exams or mock tests. Do not hesitate to talk to the teachers about this as they can give you a clear and better idea about how to distribute your time among various question types. Stick to that time frame for each section of the paper.
Use the reading time given to you wisely
The reading time is to be used for completely calming down your mind and reading the question paper thoroughly. So, if in case you come across one question while reading, whose answer you can’t recall, it’s okay. There’s absolutely no need to start panicking about it. Don’t let that one question eat your precious reading time. Read the paper and the instructions closely, and don’t miss out on anything.
Plan the answers in your mind beforehand
The reading time is also to be used for planning the answers beforehand. If there are options between two or more topics in the question, make the decision of which topic to choose. Plan the long answers in your mind during this time, and think about the answers to MCQs. This way, you will be able to quickly put your pen to paper when the writing time starts.
Start writing the answers that you know
We have seen so many students make the mistake of wasting precious time in the exam by pondering over that one question whose answer is just not coming to the mind right then. We would suggest you to leave that question for the time being and come back to it after you’ve written the answers you know.
Ask for new answer sheets a bit early
Do not wait for writing the last word on the answer sheet before you ask for a new sheet. If you know that you will need another sheet, ask for it a bit early. This way, you will not have to wait for even a second after you finish writing on one answer sheet.
Do not aim to leave the hall before the final bell
Keep in mind that the aim is to finish the exam well and to finish it in time. It’s not like you should finish it in a mad hurry just to leave the exam hall fifteen minutes early. Stay in the exam room and revise the answer sheet. Tally the answer sheet with the question paper, and see if you have answered all the questions.
